After weeks of "Werk in progress", the gallery and interior design boutique Werk has opened for business at 9 Clinton Street. Werk (pronounced verk) is located on the lower level of the space and shares an address with CultureFix. Apparently, the locale has quite a retail history, as Bowery Boogie contributor Robert Carmona shares, "Back in 1991, this store had the best Dime bags of Green in the Lower East Side?. And of course before that in the 80?s, this was a notorious Heroin spot. “RoadRunner” was the name on the bags." Bodes well for the future, we think. [Bowery Boogie]
