Looks like the Battery Park DSW is dunzo. Battery Park City residents are blaming Goldman Sachs, which has been booting local retail establishments in order to upgrade the area around its new 200 West headquarters. (BPC's New York Sports Club disappeared earlier this summer.) But Goldman's head of real estate tells the paper that "both the gym and the shoe shop had asked to break their own leases following falling sales." Whatever the case, DSW closes August 21st, and until then, the entire clearance section will be marked down another 30% off. [Telegraph; Curbed]
