This winter, Upper East Siders will have to walk a little less far to fill their pantries. (Well, at least the delivery guys will.)
Fairway has announced that they will open a grocery on the Upper East Side early next year. The company’s seventh location, which will replace a Barnes & Noble at 240 East 86th Street, is set to open in early 2011 and already sounds impressive.
Boasting three whole floors of groceries, the shop will be around the same size as the company’s Broadway and 74th Street flagship. Or as we envision it, a humongous market place of snacks. Floors and rows and freezers and shelves of yummy, delicious food! Sandwiches and bagels! Cookies and cakes! Good We're already thanking our lucky stars that wintertime is conducive to layering.
