Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Today's Street Scenes subject is Melanie, shot on Wooster Street between Broome and Spring in Soho. Feel free to vote on whether you like or dislike her outfit below. Your choices are 'Perfection!,' 'So close,' 'I feel strangely ambivalent about it,' or 'Who did this to you?'

Melanie is wearing a James Perse cardigan and top. Her shoes are vintage and her pants are from Trina Turk, which is also her favorite brand and her employer (she manages the city and Hamptons stores.) Her necklace is from Nest, a foundation that supports female artisans around the world.
