Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
So many hands telling different times, but all with the same subliminal message at Paul Smith: time is a-tickin and summer is almost over. Every hour brings you closer to hitting up your storage unit for your fall duds, or to your favorite British designer for some new autumn outfits *wink wink*.
The simplicity of these windows is originally what caught our attention. Whereas Anthopologie across the street seems to have borrowed all the old, weathered buoys within a 300-mile area to create junked-up late summer windows, Paul Smith is keeping it clean, crisp and forward-thinking. Now if only the season for wool jackets and leather gloves would hurry up; our Street Scenes subjects would like to don their Paul Smith again, please.
