Just a few weeks after opening shop on Houston, Rag & Bone is the recipient of some, er, neighborly feedback. Bowery Boogie spotted some graffiti scrawled in black marker on the shop's tribute wall to previous decade-long tenants, Cafe Colonial—the phrase "You Would".
Of all the things that could have been tagged, it's an odd phrase choice. "You Would"...what, exactly? The farewell wall's tip of the hat to the Brazilian restaurant that lost it lease is meant to give homage, but people are clearly still bitter about the turnover from a local lunch spot to a clothing line's third brick-and-mortar outpost in New York.
Hey, the beloved restaurant may be missed, but maybe tagging the wall with "Give me back my Pan de Queijo" or "I can't eat lace-up booties for brunch" would have been more effective. Or, at the least, more coherent.—Carlye Wisel
