COBBLE HILL—Kitchen storage containers? Sure. Organic shaving cream? Done. Gardening supplies? Naturally. For a while now, there's been only one thing that Court Street's Winn Discount doesn't have, and that's air conditioning. Last August, anyone trying to get something from the back of the not-very-well-ventilated store risked heat exhaustion, and Winn employees regularly looked like they were on the verge of collapse. But just in time for the heat wave, the store managed to get a new unit installed, and now it's positively icy inside. The giant signs in Winn's windows announcing the A.C.'s arrival might seem like overkill, but trust us—for locals, this is huge news. [RackedWire]
SOHO—Tomorrow from 6pm to 9pm, stop by Oliver Peoples at W. Broadway and Broome for the "Summer Sessions" sale. Get discounts on the house label, Paul Smith, and Mosley Tribes while drinking free cocktails; they'll even have a DJ on hand. [Racked Inbox]
