Inspired by a comment on our plus-sized-designer-at-Saks-scoop, we delved into the issue of disappearing petite departments. Our source says Saks recently revived their petite department but quickly folded it for two reasons. One, the notion of splitting up departments as such is antiquated (see size 14 Chanel coming soon to the same rack that displays size 4 Chanel). And, two, petite shoppers—at least at the Saks level—just weren't willing to pay retail. Perhaps the problem was no-one knew the department existed? Either way: Sorry, ladies! [RackedWire]
