Six-year-old Maltese Chloe marks a first for Store Sidekicks: She's the only pup who's ever worn her own tennis dress to a photoshoot. Chloe comes into Mason's Tennis Mart two or three times a week to greet her loyal fans. (We first heard about her from a devoted Racked NY reader and Mason's regular.) We are told that Chloe has a way of cheering anyone up by smiling on command or doing a little dance. While we were taking her picture, some of the aforementioned fans were feeding her pretzels, making her very happy.
Chloe's owner, Dana Mason, is also the store's VP and buyer. She tells us that people travel as far from South America for the shop's collection of new, high-end tennis equipment. It's also a favorite destination for tennis-playing New Yorkers who want racquets or U.S. Open official merchandise. Mason's is a favorite amongst patrons who love tennis and fashion because of their range of stylish athletic wear by brands like Fred Perry, Fila, Adidas, Nike, and Polo Ralph Lauren. And if you want to buy your very own doggy tennis dress, there are only four left at the store for $45.—Joann Pan
