Apparently, Maria Cornejo isn't the only successful entrepreneur in the family. After 20 years of success with the 5 Burro Café in Forrest Hills, Queens, Maria's brother and sister-in-law, Jorge and Marla have opened a second outpost in Columbia Street Waterfront District a.k.a. Red Hook. The Zero designer is already a regular at the new location and Marla sometimes models her cutting edge looks. The cantina also sells 5 Burro branded t-shirts and paraphernalia. So far Maria hasn't contributed her design talents just yet, but she does acknowledge "that’s a good idea”to WWD. We'll be holding out for a family food + fashion collaboration in the future.
