If we've learned anything from reading reviews of Splice (aside from the fact that we probably are not going to see Splice), it's that it's never a good idea to tamper with DNA. Case in point: LF's tribute to Alexander McQueen's infamous armadillo shoes, which adds a wedge heel and some black suede to the already-freakish shape. The irony, of course, is that McQueen did the whole mutant-alien beauty thing so well. Somehow a mutant of a mutant just isn't the same. [Refinery29]
