Looks Like Lanvin Will Be a Little Late to the UES

Alber, Alber...wherefore art thou, Alber? Although WWD and Fashion Week Daily predicted a quiet June opening of Lanvin's flagship boutique, at 815 Madison Avenue between Donna Karan and Max Mara, actually visiting the spot tells a different story. All is quiet construction-wise in the 5-story building, and we'd predict a late July opening at best.

What's more likely is a September Fashion Week debut, with requisite flashy party and hopefully an appearance from Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz. Surely a 4,000-square-foot shop on Madison deserves that, especially since the French house will use it as their US headquarters.
