Pretty Party Dresses + Big Beaded Shoulders at Alice + Olivia

Even though the Top Button Tour didn't stop at the Alice + Olivia sale, we definitely had to check it out. Taking place in the Bryant Park retail store, the sale offers up to 70% off of Spring merchandise. We stopped by toward the end of day one and there were still lots of flirty party dresses, sexy day dresses, tops, bottoms and skirts (plus a rack of men's cashmere and blended sweaters) to be found.

Pricing: $39 for t-shirts, $79 for tops, $129 for beaded tops, $99 for shorts, skirts, sweaters and pants, $199 for jackets, $149 for day dresses and $189 for beaded and detailed cocktail dresses. (A full price list is in the photo gallery). The sale is mostly organized by item, but there were a few mixed racks in the bunch and sizes are random.

Highlights of the sale include, of course, flirty, sexy cocktail mini-dresses, such as an iridescent pink and silver sequined sleeveless fitted frock with a keyhole back (originally $495) and a navy beaded tunic top with an attached drapey, layered asymmetrical skirt (originally $440). There is also a selection of versatile and sexy cropped tuxedo jackets: white with sequined beaded collar and black or cream jacket with leather accented fold-over shoulder panels. There were countless slouchy tees and tanks with twisted chain hardware and beading, and we couldn't help but kind of want to jump on the big football shoulder train with the hardware embellished epaulet Structured Parade tee (originally $198). Unfortunately, yesterday afternoon offered just one soft and supple $249 leather jacket, but leather shoppers can try to console themselves with $249 suede leggings. There are also a ton of Alice + Olivia for Payless platforms and boots scattered in bins throughout the store for $29 a pair.

There is a communal fitting room in the back and all the stock is out on the floor. Act fast for deals on party frocks; last night the sale was becoming quickly packed with after-work shoppers as the evening progressed.
