Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Finally! We've been waiting for an official opening date for the Target in East Harlem's East River Plaza and here it is: per billboard signage posted, the magic date is Sunday, July 25. Straphangers may have also noticed an entire 6 train wrapped in Target ads hailing the upcoming event. Leave it to Target to make a huge splash with the the first-ever full-length ad wrapped train decorated in a mix of the signature bulls-eye logos and seasonally patriotic American flags. Target joins the already open for business Costco and Best Buy, completing the trifecta of discount shopping heaven (bulk toilet paper, a flat screen and designer collabs all in one trip!). We're so excited to have another option to hit when the Tucker collaboration arrives on September 10th.
