In all the iPhone 4 craziness of last week, this alarming four-car crash at the Madison Avenue Oliver Peoples was almost lost in the shuffle. Last Wednesday evening, three cabs collided and crashed into a car resulting in one taxi slamming into the Oliver Peoples storefront. Thankfully, the store was empty at the time. Two victims were taken to the hospital, but there were no serious injuries reported. The pics from the scene look pretty bad though, and witnesses said that one passenger from the crashed cab had to be cut out of the vehicle.
The Oliver Peoples storefront is currently covered in plywood while repairs are underway and a tipster sent us a picture of a sign directing customers to the Soho boutique for pickups. The staffer who answered the phone said that it would be at least two or three weeks before the Madison location will be operating again.
