In a big "duh, that makes total sense" industry moment, the Post reports that billionaire businessman Ron Burkle has accumulated a significant 6% equity share in American Apparel. The dealing is so apropos even off the books, considering that Ron Burkle and American Apparel CEO Dov Charney have had their own share of scandal and questionable rumored activity. But interestingly enough, a Post source says that sneaky Ron has been buying up these shares unbeknownst to poor Dov. Dov is probably too busy trying to keep American Apparel from being kicked off the New York Stock Exchange due to unpaid loans. [NYP; Fashionista]
