Moncler, the Italian luxury ski-wear brand known for $1000+ puffy jackets, has staked its claim on the former Zöe restaurant space at Prince and Mercer. The Shophound caught wind of the move-in by taking notice of the Bruce Weber shot Moncler ad image pasted over construction plywood. The Soho location would be the only Moncler freestanding store in Manhattan and there is no set opening date as of yet. Shophound has his money on the holidays (just in time for expensive ski-wear), but thinks the brand may pull it out of the bag by Fashion Week. Even if Moncler doesn't have a storefront ready by September, judging from the epic presentation this past Fashion Week, the brand will definitely make their presence known in some dramatic way, shape or form.
