Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
In about an hour, Vena Cava's sample sale will kick off in Soho. We'll have a full report on the goods, of course, but in the meantime, how about a Vena appetizer? Opening Ceremony stopped by the label's showroom yesterday for a look at Viva Vena, an as-yet-unreleased line of lower-priced basics (due out this fall). Being Opening Ceremony employees, they were already wearing outfits that perfectly coordinated with the collection's tees, coats, and dresses, so they staged a photo shoot, above.
The tee, coat, and print dress all look pretty promising, although exactly how promising should depend on pricing—everything in the collection costs under $200, but that's a vague price range when it comes to embellished sweatshirt tops. As for the rest of the looks, we liked our LA sister site's reaction: "We don't care if it is Vena Cava; no net shirts!"
