Where do we start with talking about the awesome Y-3 annual sale? Let's let the results speak for themselves: we stopped by the preview last night and managed to buy 13 items for under $300, which itself is about half the original price of one of the skirts we snagged.
Prices dip as low as $5?for socks, leather chains, baby shoes and keychains?and don't go higher than $60 unless you're eyeing a piece from the runway rack, and even then those are still 90% off retail. It's really all good news for men and women with this sale, which begins today and lasts until Thursday, running 10am-6pm daily on the third floor of Adidas' Houston Street HQ.
In womenswear, the best steals are a range of very Yohji skirts at $25 each, giant scarves that once retailed for $250 now costing only $20, and racks of extremely discounted pieces, from shorts and swimwear to dresses and winter capes. Shoes are plentiful, and mainly run in sizes 7.5-9. They had none of our favorite knee-high boots, but a great selection of running and walking shoes. Do not miss the accessories tables either, since cute $5 socks, leather belts for $10 and leather hats for $20 are such easy buys.
In menswear, the clothing selection is happily just as great as the footwear. Men can get Y-3 swimwear, toggle-closure winter coats and even plain old workout wear. Shoes are $50 for low-tops and $60 for high-tops, and if you don't find what you're looking for in the piles in the middle of the floor, don't neglect the stacks running along the back window. Men have fewer accessories, but the $30 totes are simply awesome, and leather ones only cost $10 more.
Get to the sale early if you want any chance at accessories. We've gone to this sale for the last couple years and can definitely say that this time, the sale manages to have both the best selection and lowest prices.
It's also worth noting that there's a single rack of Adidas SLVR. It's mostly menswear, but everything on it is $15, which is a price you'll never see at their newish Soho boutique.
