Last week, Williamsburg gift shop Brooklynski officially morphed into Williamsburg gift shop Honey & Hazel. The new owner, Melissa "Mel" Gorski, is a former PR and marketing pro for publications like Cosmopolitan and House Beautiful. She's always been a fan of Brooklynski, and when the previous owners started to think about moving on, she swooped in and bought it. The merchandise hasn't changed much—the shop still stocks jewelry, artwork, and housewares by local artists and t-shirts with Brooklynski's nautical logo—but there's a new emphasis on baby clothes. Gorski also plans to start carrying more items for men. As for the name, it comes partly from the meaning of "Melissa" (Greek for honey) and the hazel tree, which is apparently a symbol of creativity.
