Designer Helmut Lang's sale at 139 Fifth Avenue between 21st and 22nd Streets started this morning to a steady stream of shoppers. As we walked in, we saw many girls walk out empty handed—the high sample sale prices ranging from $70 to $800 may have turned some people off. The sale took over a huge floor and had fitting room space. We saw lots of foil-printed tanks and oversized T-shirts for $70. Also, various styles of black, sheath skinny pants and leggings were available by the rack-full. There was only one rack for menswear, but it had lower prices and a great selection of jackets and shirts.
This light-toned mesh dress was there for $215—we saw it on Shopbop for $297.50. But we were dying to get our hands on some discounted mesh bondage dresses, and we didn't see much of a selection. However, for those in need of Helmut Lang leather shorts, leather pants, or silk tops, this sale is for you.—:Joann Pan
