When nightlife czar Serge Becker (of the Box and La Esquina fame) planned to open Miss Lily, an "eatery" in the West Village, he probably didn't realize his nemesis would be influential neighborhood resident Anna Wintour. Last night, the Vogue Editor rallied fellow concerned neighbors to protest the opening at a community board meeting. An impeccably dressed Wintour addressed the residents' concerns: noise, drunk people at all hours and "the safety of the kids". She even rallied the crowd into a subversive clap of support since hand raising is apparently not allowed at these meetings. The community board will reach a recommendation decision soon. In the meantime, Becker may want to Netflix the Devil Wears Prada for a refresher course. [NYDN]
