All weekend, Nolita vintage boutique Frock is holding court inside Matthew Williamson's Meatpacking District flagship. Frock specializes in designer pieces from the '60s, '70s, and '80s—the kind of vintage you wear on the red carpet, rather than the kind of vintage you wear to to bike around Brooklyn. As such, the prices aren't cheap, but the selection is like a lesson in design history. For this weekend's event, they looked for pieces that reflect Matthew Williamson's embellishment-obsessed tropical-vacation aesthetic, coming up with a selection that includes Alaïa, Chanel, YSL, Thierry Mugler, Lanvin, Sonia Rykiel, Bill Blass, Anne Klein, Gianni Versace, and Karl Lagerfeld. We hear that standouts include accessories (jewelry, belts, bags) and evening wear, and that the Matthew Williamson store will be showcasing in-house gowns and party dresses as well.
The pop-up runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but they're kicking it off tonight with a launch party from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Guests will get 20% off Matthew Williamson and 10% off the Frock selection. Interested? RSVP to info@matthewilliamson if you'd like stop by.
