"A sad site/sight," get it? Yes, well, their new basement location in the mini-mall underneath The Plaza Hotel is no laughing matter for Emanuel Ungaro. After abandoning their former flagship location on Madison Avenue only months ago?which Michael Kors has snapped up?Ungaro has attempted to turn itself around.
First they didn't give up on NYC for good, opening in this space that is little better than a glorified hallway, secondly they fired Lindsay Lohan as "artistic director" while losing both their womenswear and menswear designers, and finally they signed on Giles Deacon and Katie Grand in their stead. Hooray for actual talent!
In any case, this Ungaro boutique at The Plaza may have opened at the end of April, but it looks like it's been gathering dust since.
