They were mocked when they came out in February, but according to the NYT, Spanx for Men are "a huge retail hit." And it's not just Spanx: Australian shapewear label Equmen is one of the best-selling men's underwear brands at Saks. Guys love the magical slimming effect, and the fact that they can pretend they're wearing shaping tees for their pack pain. Of course, as women know too well, it's a slippery slope from "flattering" to "mandatory." The article quotes a career coach who believes that men over 40 should wear Spanx on job interviews. [NYT]
