This morning, WWD reports that Graydon Carter may be courting Lady Gaga for the cover of the September Vanity Fair issue. The ad heavy September issue is known as the "Style Issue", although last September, the magazine bumped Mad Men's Jon Hamm and January Jones for two more relevant and timely cover stories with Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. French First Lady/style icon/folk singer Carla Bruni-Sarkozy graced the 2008 cover. If this deal goes through, the possibilities of what she might wear would drive us into sheer madness! The only word from a VF spokesperson is a vague “It’s our policy to not talk about future covers or stories, whether we are or are not working on them." Guess they don't want to jinx anything. [WWD]
