Ready to feel massively conflicted? Here goes: Spring and summer stock is now 40% to 60% off at Lyell—because it's closing. Over the past seven years, designer Emma Fletcher has developed a perfect blend of femininity and edge, producing girlie print tops and dresses that were sweet but never saccharine. She even collaborated with Urban Outfitters on several seasons of a line called Fletcher by Lyell. But now, reports blog I Loved New York, Fletcher is shuttering her Elizabeth Street boutique, and she's not planning on re-opening elsewhere. From the farewell note on her website:
So after seven years and with a lease that is running out, I have decided to say goodbye for now. Lyell is my heart and soul. I couldn't have come as far as I have come with out all the loyal support that I've received over the years. However, it is time now to take break.
As of today we are starting our closeout sale with all styles now 40-60% off. This includes new styles that have just arrived and even more coming over the next couple weeks. The sale will continue until we run out of stock over the next month.Lyell fans tend to wait impatiently for the next sale, so this is a bittersweet announcement. As for the Urban line, its future is uncertain, but for the moment you can find it in stores and on the Urban Outfitters website.
