Jean Paul Gaultier Out at Hermès; Score! Free Swap Returns

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

PARIS—Oh man, Hermès is seriously having a rough day. Not only is their air conditioner on the fritz, but now Jean Paul Gaultier is dunzo as creative director. The company is replacing him with Christophe Lemaire of Lacoste. [Racked National via WWD]

GOWANUS—This Saturday, May 29, pop-up "free store" Score! reappears at the BKLYN Yard. Bring your old clothes, housewares, books, and other no-longer-needed knick-knacks to the sale, and swap them for new things—totally free. Anything left over at the end of the day gets recycled or goes to charity. This year, the organizers have added Etsy crafts, electronics from AlphaOne Labs, and bikes by NY Bike Jumble, plus clothing from Market Publique. RSVP here (there's a $3 cover) or head to Facebook to learn more. [Racked Inbox]
