The James Jeans sale kicked off first thing this morning in the expansive Tribeca James Jeans Showroom loft space. The sale offers discounts on denim for women and men (mostly women, sorry guys). The loft space was so pretty and the jeans so neatly cataloged, we almost wanted to move in and have James Jeans organize our lives.

For womenswear, let's start with the $80 pairs (or 2 for $150), which are organized first by size, then in piles according to style, including: Higher rise skinny, Twiggy legging (a popular cut and the lighter washes were super soft), higher rise straight, higher rise boot cut, straight skinny and bootcut. The sizes run from 24 to 32. There are also racks and shelves displaying white jeans ($80), flares ($80), boyfriend ($80) and cropped Twiggy cropped jeans ($70), which are then organized by size.

There is one rack of sample jeans ($50 each or $30 each for 2 pairs) in various sizes and styles (we saw lots of 5-pocket boot leg with gold embroidered swatches on the back pocket). There are also a few denim jackets in various styles (skinny, puff sleeve, etc.) for $75 and pinstripe deconstructed denim vests for $50. Also check out bins of skirts and shorts ($40 each or 2 for $75) scattered throughout the loft space.

Ladies are definitely the focal point of this sale as men's denim only fills one shelf unit. The jeans sizes run 28 to 40 and are priced at $75 a pair. The styles are mixed in and we saw straight, boot cut and relaxed 5-pocket pairs, in mostly dark washes with a few white jeans in size 32.

The good news is that there is plenty more stock for women, including samples, so if you don't see your size, make sure to one of the helpful staffers. The not-so-good-news is that menswear is mostly out on the shelves already. There are communal and separate dressing rooms for both women and men and both cash and credit are accepted.
