It just goes to show, you can't keep a good indie fashion designer down. After the whole Gen Art closure fallout and scandal, three labels are rising above it all. Apparel designers Lewis Cho and H. Fredrikkson and jewelry designers ken & dana have banded together to throw Plan B, a shopping night offering up to 60% off the labels' retail prices. Plan B will take place this Thursday, May 27, so mark your calendars.
Plan B is to make up for last Thursday's canceled Gen Art shopping event, which of course begs the question—were these designers left high and dry by Gen Art? Yes—Annie Lewis of Lewis Cho says that she paid her entry fee and later received an email from Gen Art informing her that she would not be receiving a refund. Even more disheartening, Ken Leung (Ken of ken & dana) shares that "Gen Art members who recently renewed their membership are also out of their membership fees. Some members pay as much as $500 a year." Like they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade, so let's concentrate on the positive.
Plan B has the mission of keeping the indie designer spirit alive by fostering a creative and unique community of designers. So support the cause and grab a few discounts (plus a DJ and open bar) and stop by Plan B on Thursday between 5pm and 10pm.
