The warm sunshine mixed with up to 80% off Mara Hoffman dresses and separates (not to mention up to 75% off bathing suits) just makes us want to take a vacation from our budget and buy, buy, buy. A small crowd of fans (including a shopper sporting a brand spanking new yellow Costello Tagliapietra for Uniqlo dress she must have just bought yesterday) had the same idea, waiting outside the store for the sale to begin at 10am today.
Once the doors opened, shoppers immediately descended onto the racks, gathering up armfuls of playful pieces from the Resort and Spring collections priced between $50 and $175. Highlights included two-toned braided back rompers in black/hot pink and blue/black for $150 (those were going fast), neon pink cross-front mini-dresses with orange piping for $75, and silk jersey silver strapless cocktail frocks for $75. We also found disco-sexy cowl mini-skirts in black, silver and pink for $75, a ruched bodice silver and purple graphic maxi-dress for $175 and silky graphic cover-ups that scream cocktails on the beach for $75.
There were also loads of bikinis in various patterns and flashy metallics for $75. And speaking of bathing suits, also displayed is a black, one-piece, cut-out string number that we can kind of picture on a Kardashian sister (good or bad, you decide) for $50. On the definitely-good end of the spectrum, there are bins on the floor with $10 bikinis (top and bottom) and $25 one-pieces. For ten bucks, the string bikini with embroidered flowers in black or white is a steal. There are also $10 bins to mix and match and a $10 clothing section, though that was slim pickings.
Sizes run from zero to eight and from small to large, but we saw a lot of fours and sixes. The size selection really depends on the style and staffers are happy to check the stockroom if your size is not on the floor. There is a communal fitting area downstairs and good news is that they will be replenishing the floor during the sale. Have at it—it's a beautiful day for shopping!
