A tipster checks in from the ostensibly private 3.1 Phillip Lim sample sale running through 6pm tonight and tomorrow at the label's showroom at 260 W. 39th Street. The good news: It's really easy to get in. The bad news: It's pricey. His report:
Just blew through the 3.1 Phillip Lim sample sale, and blew right out. It's supposed to be by invitation only but anyone can definitely walk in off the street if they're willing to tolerate the inanity of the bag-checkers. There's a fair amount of stuff but it's a mob scene and there is some major hoarding and mirror hogging going on. Stuff was definitely not recent—saw some items from five or six seasons ago. And prices seemed kind of high. The only items I saw for under $100 were some really bad unisex sandals and coin purses. Blouses and shirts were more like $150 or more; shoes were $100. Barneys Warehouse Sale is definitely a much better bet.Blogger Cheryl Shops, quoted above, agrees. If you go, let us know what you think.
