Nordstrom unveils its first foray in into Manhattan this morning, with the public opening of the Nordstrom Rack in Union Square. With the attention paid to this inaugural opening, the question is: Will there be more Nordstrom Racks opening up in the city? So far, the answer is no. About 10 to 15 Racks will be unveiled throughout the country, but as a Nordstrom executive tells WWD, “We are not looking at any sites in Manhattan right now.” While we wait, let's focus on the matter at hand with this impressive breakdown of the Union Square offerings: 25,000 pairs of shoes, 2,400 handbags and 2,000 pairs of denim for men and women. Come 9am, it'll be time to try and put a dent in those stats. [WWD subscription req'd, previously]
