In Murray Hill, an OB/GYN is quietly selling sex toys alongside Pap smears. Details tells the story of Dr. Andrew Scheinfeld, who believes he is the first ladydoctor in the country to have an official relationship with a vibrator brand. He's aligned with Lelo, a high-end Swedish company that makes sleek toys according to the strict, minimalist standards of Scandinavian design.
Since it's a little weird for Dr. Scheinfeld to push vibrators himself—as Daily Intel puts it, "some women might feel awkward having a man who resembles a hairless version of Christopher Lloyd's character in Back to the Future demonstrate how said items work"—he has a bubbly, "bosomy" office manager do it for him. It's a pretty genius way to make some extra money on his part, but the whole thing leaves us with one question: If you're buying a vibrator from your doctor, can you get your health insurance to cover it?
