Contrary to conventional belief, sports and fashion can go together (and we don't just mean athletes dating models). Joining the growing number of fashion meets sports deals, DKNY has signed a long-term, big time sponsorship deal with the New York Yankees. This landmark deal gives DKNY a prominent logo billboard on right center field (meaning it will be a focal point of everyone at home games, plus everyone around the country who is watching the game on TV) and title sponsorship of the "Dugout Lounge", which will show the game as well as looping DKNY footage (Kelly Cutrone's cozy viral commercial, perhaps?). The billboard will be unveiled at the first home game on April 13th and Ms. Karan herself will be attending the April 16th game. [WWD subscription req'd]
