Since last June when the Columbus Avenue Danskin was seized by the City Marshals for non-payment, the space has been closed and deserted. Upper West Siders may not have to look at the remnants of the shuttered store much longer as permits have been posted signaling that a Petco Unleashed will be moving into the space. The store may not be that exciting to everyone, but that is one less empty storefront in the area. Plus, the self proclaimed "neighborhood" (albeit very corporate) pet store's organic and raw pet foods will probably appeal to the nabe's selective and pampering dog owners.
