A Scramble for Discounted Sigerson Morrison in Chelsea

New, 14 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

If you're hoping for rock-bottom prices on everything from over-the-knee boots to sandals from Sigerson Morrison, then you will be disappointed since the lowest sale price at Chelsea's Metropolitan Pavilion is $150 for Sigerson's main line. But, BUT, if you're a fan of the brand and maybe have had your eye on a few pairs from magazine ads, then you just might be in luck.

Although there's no line to enter the sale, the sale itself is packed, and piles of shoes litter the floor. Shoes are arranged in plastic buckets by size, and each pair is bagged up. This makes it harder to quickly scan the offerings and easier for shoes to lose their mates. We spotted some stunners from the S/S 2008 ad campaign in most sizes, and it looks like everyone else saw them too, since many women were clutching the flats and sandals close to their hearts.

Prices for Sigerson Morrison main line are $150 for shoes/flats, $225 for booties, and $295 for boots. Prices for the younger, lower-priced line Belle by Sigerson Morrison run $95 for shoes/flats, $150 for booties and $195 for boots. There are also two tables sparsely populated with black and brown leather Sigerson bags, but you'll be coughing up $150 for the clutches, $300 for a purse and $400 for the larger bags.

The sale runs through Friday, but if you want a chance at any of the really great stuff, you've just got to go today; the shoppers there this morning were a determined lot. Speaking of the crowds today, the line to check out almost reached the length of the space, and thus we abandoned the two awesome items we were going to buy and instead browsed around the Zero + Maria Cornejo stock.

Prices for Zero + Maria Cornejo range from $50 to $200, and there were many women buying up the printed frocks. What's mainly left are knits and filmy tops, but fans of Maria will surely pick the racks clean eventually.
