Luscious NYC, newly opened on Prince Street near Bowery, sells sexy lingerie and swimwear for decent prices. The white-painted shelves and racks are filled with with beautiful lace underthings running anywhere from $38 to $150, while the swimwear is a bit more expensive, with most pieces falling around $150. Some brands we spotted were Blush, Elle Macpherson, Petite, and Jenna Leigh, as well as L Space for bathing suits. There was even a Betsey Johnson bra and thong set. Luscious NYC also sells some quirky personal items like sleep masks that go for up to $40. (We liked the double-sided one that reads "hot tonight" on one side and "not tonight" on the other.) Candles and Stella McCartney day-of-the-week undies fill some shelves as well.
Right now the store is a work in progress. The vibe, says store owner Jennifer Rodriguez, should be both old and new. Plum curtains drape the back wall and cover the dressing rooms, and a large crystal chandelier hangs from the middle of the ceiling. Rodriguez told us she just bought antique French chairs which she plans to re-upholster to match the store's decor. She also plans on buying a full-length mirror to go in alongside a vintage dresser and some other antique pieces. Also coming soon: A bra wall behind the cashier with antique wire bra forms that will hold some of her store's pieces. Rodriguez said that she's had good foot traffic this week, and she cannot wait for her new furniture to arrive.—Lauren Frankfort
