Also new on Prince Street: Block Headwear. The shop soft-opened yesterday at 10 Prince, but it's not fully up and running yet. When we checked it out, a man was working in the doorway, and in the back a couple of wood posts alluded to a future table which will hold the cash register and hat designer who will make custom hats. While one of the exposed-brick walls has an array of Block Headwear hats hanging from it, the opposite wall holds a very cool arrangement of washed-out wood doors hung with original Penguin headgear. Besides these two displays, the store feels unfinished—probably because the grand opening isn't for another two weeks. There will also be a party, and who doesn't love a party?—LF [Bowery Boogie]
