WILLIAMSBURG—Among this weekend's many shopping events is the debut of Homemade: Brooklyn, a week-long pop-up shop showcasing goods made by Brooklynites. Stop by 522 Metropolitan (between Union and Lorimer) tonight from 6pm to 9pm for free drinks at the opening party, then check out the online calendar for the rest of the week's events, including performances by local musicians and a trunk show from jewelry-makers Species by the Thousands. WILLIAMSBURG AND EAST VILLAGE—Super-cheap consignment shop Buffalo Exchange is celebrating Earth Day a little late. Tomorrow from 11am—8pm, stop by either location (504 Driggs in the 'Burg or 332 E. 11th in Manhattan) to shop $1 racks. All proceeds benefit the Humane Society's Don’t Trash Wildlife campaign, which means they'll go to help rescue wild animals suffering from trash-related injuries. So not only are you getting a major deal on some potentially attractive merchandise, but you're also saving the yogurt squirrels of the world. [Buffalo Exchange]
