Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Reports are trickling in from Rodarte's RSVP-required sample sale at their midtown studio, and so far, all the news is good. Mizhattan notes that the sale is very carefully orchestrated, with clothing wrapped in plastic and hung neatly on racks. But despite the boutique-y atmosphere, she still found sample sale prices, including a gorgeous beaded dress for $300 and tops and skirts for $100. (Another thing that belies the sense you're just browsing a secret Rodarte boutique: The changing rooms double as the bathroom. Not that anyone's complaining.)

A commenter chimes in with another take:

Just got back. Prices seem a bit lower than last time. There are/were a bunch of skirts at around $80. Dresses seem to range from $500-$1500. Knits seem to be in the $1000-$1300 range. The white shoes above were $300. There were some awesome leather jackets for $2000. Tote bags were $40. The staff is great and Andy is super sweet!
Racked readers definitely love Rodarte's right-hand man Andy: Last time, someone called him "a doll."
