Diane Von Furstenberg has announced the July opening of a 2000-square-foot Soho location on Wooster Street between Houston and Prince. DVF put the breaks on expanding during the recession, but now has a 5-year plan to open eight more stores in the U.S. to equal a total of 20 stores worldwide. She tells WWD that the Soho store wasn't originally in the plan, but the space was "too good not to grab." The store will differentiate its stock from the Meatpacking headquarters with more "focused pieces" and possibly vintage (cue squeals of delight). Judging from the showing at the last DVF sample sale, Manhattan could always use more DVF.
