This afternoon, workmen affixed an official Nordstrom Rack nameplate above the incoming discount emporium in the former home of the Union Square Virgin Megastore. Rack is set to open in early May, so we were worried last week when the Shophound pointed out that the store's interior is still empty and raw, but this looks like nothing if not progress. It also marks a major first: Nordstrom has never had Manhattan signage before.
