What happened to Classic Kicks? The Nolita storefront has been shuttered for a while now, but the owners are fighting to keep the sneaker shop alive. StreetRat reports that the boutique decided to move after the landlord raised the rent on the Elizabeth Street space they've occupied since 2003. "No word on where they’re looking," the magazine explains, "or how soon the move will be, but keep tight." Meanwhile, the Classic Kicks Twitter says they'll be re-opening in the summer. Still, EV Grieve remains skeptical, pointing to a handwritten note on the front door announcing that the company has gone out of business—never a good sign.
