Jeremiah's Vanishing New York reports that Oakley is opening on Ninth Avenue just next door to Solstice. Grumbles Jeremiah, "Because MePa people can't get enough sunglasses?" Weirdly, that does seem to be a problem! According to Page Six, Donatella Versace waltzed into Artsee recently in thigh-high stiletto boots and a leather minidress and proceeded to buy eight pairs of sunglasses, spending almost $5,000. Clearly, Oakley is just trying to help the Meatpacking District recover after this one-woman spectacle binge.
