The word is in from Paris, and Lindsay Lohan is definitely out at Emanuel Ungaro. Lohan was hired as "artistic director" last year by Ungaro's then-president Mounir Moufarrige, who really seemed to believe there was no such thing as bad press. (For our part, we thought "truly, deeply horrible" was pretty bad.) Moufairrige was replaced in December, and yesterday Lohan surprised everyone by failing to turn up at the Ungaro show, where chief designer Estrella Archs took her bow alone.
WWD tracked down Lohan at the Kenzo show later in the day and asked her why she wasn't at Ungaro. "Because I don't work for them anymore," she said before whetting our drama-hungry appetites with arguably the most damning comment possible: "There's legal things going on; I can't really discuss it."
