Hayden-Harnett's Cheap Thrills pop-up sale has a nice simple concept: Designer buddies get together and mark everything 20% to 80% off. But while we're all fans of camaraderie and supporting indie designers, there's that little question of the bottom line. A discount of 20%, after all, is very different from a discount of 80%.
Lucky for us, Sample Sally visited the Nolita sale this weekend for a full investigation. She reports a wide range of prices: Dresses by Yegang Yoo are $448, print tops and dresses from Chicago's hip Eskell label are $150, and dresses from Brooklyn's YU Clothing are only $70 (and YU's tops are only $40.) And Hayden-Harnett's in-house line is marked down 25%, meaning that the Havana hobo is now $373 (from $498). The sale, which is also taking place at the label's Greenpoint store, runs through April 26.
