That howling wasteland you see above is the sidewalk outside the Metropolitan Pavilion at 10am today. Blogger Mizhattan visited the Hermès sale this morning and found no line, no mayhem, no pocket squares, and no canvas bags. The stock of shoes, bracelets, and scarves has been depleted but not completely wiped out, so weekend shoppers might still have some luck there. And neckties and clothing are both plentiful.
Originally, sale staffers told us that they wouldn't bring out more merchandise, but a tipster last night spotted workers restocking the cologne. (This squares with Mizhattan's report that the Kelly Calèche fragrance set has "somehow appeared from nowhere.") We also hear tell of extra boxes of ties, which would explain why there are so many left despite their enduring popularity among shoppers.
