World's Most Expensive Suit

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The New York Times T Magazine pays a visit to legendary Italian suit maker Ermenegildo Zegna in celebration of the label's 100-year anniversary. The suit maker has designed a limited edition collection of suits woven with the world's highest quality merino wools with tiny fibers weighing less than a human hair. (Take that Chris March.) These custom made-to-order suits are clearly for the very discerning (and rich) shopper retailing at $22,500 for one of the limited edition 20 suits. For that price tag, we're hoping the suits are made with ultra light fibers of gold. [NYT]
