Madison Avenue Spy reports that Michael Kors will be taking over the shuttered Ungaro space on Madison and 67th Street. This would be the third Upper East Side location for Kors, who also has stores on Madison at 77th and 60th Streets. MAS sees this news as the opening maneuver in a game of retail Risk between Kors and Ralph Lauren, who's staked his claim all over Madison. That angle meshes nicely with the Shophound's (perhaps wishful) theory that the new Kors boutique will be dedicated to menswear, since Lauren is currently developing a massive men's store of his own. As yet, Michael Kors hasn't confirmed anything, but we'll keep you posted.
